Albany - First Stop

Soo last night around 8:00 we embarked on our journey across America.

First stop of our epic trip was Albany - the Capital of the Empire State and home of the great educational institution known as SUNY Albany.  We left under what some call "stormy" conditions but packing in the rain isn't a problem when you have a garage for  cover. We plugged in our means of communication and navigation and crossed the Throgs Neck and Tappan Zee bridges in driving rain and wind, covered in the the new dark of the night. Arriving in Albany, we were hosted by our good friend from the beautiful Sands Atlantic Beach Club, Tony Bogdan.

To celebrate the first stop on our journey, and since it was Joe's first time in Albany, Tony decided to take us out on the town.  We went with Tony and his roommate Aaron to small gathering at the house of one of their friends.  Coincidentally, Corey had been to the very house we went to last night years ago on a previous trip to Albany when other tenants lived there.  This was fun until someone called in a noise complaint against the neighbors but the police came to the wrong house (this is what they told us AFTERwards) and made everybody leave.

We then headed to Washington Tavern, where Tony works.  Here we met up with our good friend Kevin Principato and shared a few glasses of the local favorites.  It was a great first night on this epic trip.

Today we leave for Buffalo and Niagara Falls by way of Corning, NY, where we're stopping for a tour of the Corning Glass Museum (thanks Uncle Al for the suggestion).  Will post more later.
